The differences are marked yes and the whole ww11 was terrible
My grandfather had great difficulty accepting that we could be at war with Germany

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It must have been devastating on so many levels. We’ve come a long way in Europe since then!

I loved reading this post, Lena! I thought things wouldn’t be that much different moving from the US to the UK being as we both speak English, so I was surprised at even the little things that were so different. It’s so interesting to hear your perspective as someone from Germany! I think one thing I picked up from living there was becoming obsessed with the weather! And I wish I would’ve seen Cambridge in the snow. All the pictures are so beautiful.

Thank you Kelly! That’s interesting to hear, I always thought if people speak the same language it can’t be so difficult to move countries.
Cambridge in the snow is pretty indeed but we actually had a lot this year for English standards, so I’m glad it’s finally spring!

I couldn’t have written those things better! Thanks Lena for your wonderful reflections and many British expressions. Such a pleasure to read 🙂
